If Israel waits until after the election Obama WON’T have their back because he won’t be worried about losing the Jewish vote anymore.
If they want his backup, it’s now or never!
According to Ynet News:
Israel will only strike Iranian nuclear facilities in September or after the United States presidential elections in November, a White House official told the British Sunday Times newspaper after a meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Barack Obama last week.
According to the report, Obama has taken Israel’s warnings about a possible strike in Iran very seriously. The Washington source added that the president “might visit in the summer to reassure the Israelis that the US commitment to defend Israel is unshakable and thus thwart a possible autumn attack.â€
Obama insisted that any attack on Iran should be postponed until after the US presidential elections in November, possibly even until next spring. The source revealed that Netanyahu consented to delaying a strike, but wished to know until when. “The question is how much time,†he reportedly said.
The White House source added that Netanyahu presented a number of demands Iran must fulfill in order to avoid an Israeli attack, including transferring 150 kilograms (330 pounds) of enriched uranium to a third party, stopping the enrichment process at the Fordow site near Qom and ceasing any further enrichment beyond the 3.5% required for power generation.

Israel is asking the Obama administration for “bunker buster” bombs which can reach and destroy deeply fortified nuclear facilities.
This is probably the last opportunity Israel will be offering Obama to avoid a strike on Iran. With the weapons they have now, they can’t afford to wait until the whole operation is moved underground…and they won’t. With bunker busters, they could give Iran – and Obama – a little more time.
Obama just wants them to stall until after the election, so that’s the leverage they have against him. Will it be enough to convince him to comply?
Israel has asked the United States for advanced “bunker-buster” bombs and refueling planes that could improve its ability to attack Iran’s underground nuclear sites, an Israeli official said on Thursday.
“Such a request was made” around the time of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Washington this week, the official said, confirming media reports.
But the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity given the sensitivity of the issue, played down as “unrealistic” Israeli reports that the United States would condition supplying the hardware on Israel promising not to attack Iran this year.

Obama is denying that any deal was made:
The White House denied on Thursday the reports that U.S. President Barack Obama offered Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to give Israel advanced “bunker buster†missiles and long-range planes if Israel agreed not to attack Iran during 2012.
“The President did not reach such an agreement nor did he make such an offer,†Channel 10 quoted White House spokesman Jay Carney as having said during a press conference. “The two countries cooperate at various levels, including on the military and security levels, but this issue was not discussed at the meeting. The reports are not accurate.â€
A report in the Ma’ariv newspaper earlier on Thursday said that Obama made the offer to Netanyahu during their meeting in Washington earlier this week.

Charles Krauthammer wrote in a recent editorial that Israel’s existence is more important than Obama’s reelection bid:
Stopping Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon is more importantthan President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign, Washington Postand widely syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer wrote Sunday.
He also revealed that a senior administration official told the newspaper, “We’re trying to make the decision to attack as hard as possible for Israel.â€
The veteran journalist accused President Obama of cheering for Israel at last week’s American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference and then stepping an about-face by agreeing “to yet another round of talks with the mullahs†of Iran despite previous “blatant Iranian stalling and unseriousness†on the part of the  Ahmadinejad regime.
Krauthammer directly accused President Obama of putting his own campaign for re-election ahead of Israel’s security. “Obama wants to get past Nov. 6 without any untoward action that might threaten his re-election,†he wrote.
